Brand voice & web copy
Homepages, about pages and service pages written around what your customers really need to hear.
- Voice & tone notes
- Page-by-page messaging
- Headlines and calls to action
I help small brands, studios and founders shape websites, launches and long-form pieces that people actually finish reading. One writer, start to finish.
“Good copy doesn’t shout. It makes the next step feel obvious.”
The Spruce Quill approachPick one or combine them. Every project gets a clear brief, a fixed scope and a single point of contact: me.
Homepages, about pages and service pages written around what your customers really need to hear.
A careful second pass on drafts you already have, from light polish to a structural rework.
Guides, case studies, newsletters and articles that show what you know without sounding like a lecture.
A sample of recent engagement types, described in general terms to respect client confidentiality.
Turned a portfolio full of jargon into five plain-spoken pages that explain what the studio does, who it suits and how to begin.
Planned and wrote a launch page with a short email series, keeping one message consistent from the first teaser to the final reminder.
Edited a volunteer-written handbook into one consistent voice and added a style sheet so future contributors can keep it that way.
Set up a simple monthly format and helped write each issue: stories from the workshop, new pieces and one clear call to action.
A calm, predictable rhythm so you always know what’s happening and what I need from you.
A short call and a written brief covering goals, audience, scope and timing.
A structure and key messages for you to approve before any full drafting begins.
A complete first draft, followed by agreed revision rounds based on your notes.
Final, proofread files in the format you need, plus notes on voice for next time.
Spruce Quill is a one-person studio. When you hire me, you work with me directly, with no account managers and no hand-offs.
Before I write a word, I learn who you’re talking to and what they’re unsure about. Then I write to answer those questions in your voice, keeping it steady and clear.
Clarity beats wordplay whenever the two disagree.
A few projects at a time, so each gets proper attention.
Smaller edits can often start within a week or two. Website and launch projects usually need a little more lead time, so mention your deadline in the form and I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s workable.
Most work is quoted as a fixed project fee based on the agreed scope, so there are no hourly surprises. Ongoing content can be arranged as a simple monthly retainer.
Each quote includes set revision rounds, typically two. Feedback is gathered in one place per round, so changes stay focused and the timeline holds.
Final copy in shared documents or plain text ready for your website builder, plus a short voice and style sheet you can use for future writing.
Share a few details about what you’re working on. Rough ideas are welcome, and working them out is part of the job.
